Where Winds Meet out now on Xbox, Hidden Mountain expansion coming July
Hidden Mountain features a new region, faction, and discipline.

Where Winds Meet is now available for Xbox Series X, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud. And if you’re a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, there’s some extra goodies like Echo Jade and Lingering Melodies awaiting you via a starter pack. The game shadowdropped across the Xbox ecosystem after debuting a trailer for the new Hidden Mountain expansion at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
The wuxia ARPG with MMO and gacha elements originally released to a Global audience on November 14, 2025 for PC and PS5, then launched on Mobile for Android and iOS devices less than a month later on December 12, 2025. The current Global version runs almost a year behind the original Chinese release that launched for PC on December 27, 2024.
Just keep in mind that Where Winds Meet continues the storied tradition of gacha games being an absolute nightmare when it comes to account binding. As per the official Where Winds Meet X account:
If you create a character on your XBOX account first, you will not be able to bind it to an existing account from another platform. You need to bind your existing account to your XBOX account first. If you accidentally created a new character on XBOX and can’t link your existing account, please contact our support team via email (wherewindsmeet@global.netease.com) or in-game customer service so we can help unlink the conflicting save and assist with account binding.
As for Hidden Mountain, it’s the the third expansion for Where Winds Meet, and it’s releasing sometime in July. Here’s the official press release for Hidden Mountain in full:
The Horizon Expands: First Look at the “Hidden Mountain” Expansion
Fresh off the success of the “Hexi” and “Imperial Palace” expansions, the newly revealed “Hidden Mountain” expansion continues the mission to offer players a different gaming experience.
- The 3D Vertical landscape: This massive new region introduces a breathtaking, multi-layered landscape that further expands the open-world exploration, rewarding curious players with hidden surprises, deep secrets, and traversal challenges at every elevation.
The mysterious Mohist Sect: Perched high among these treacherous peaks lies the secretive Mohist Sect. The introduction of this legendary faction brings entirely new mysteries, advanced martial arts mechanics, unique gameplay loops, and major narrative twists to the ongoing Wuxia epic.
New Hand Guard Discipline: This fast-paced martial art that players have long anticipated for delivers explosive close-quarters combat. Blending rapid pursuits with relentless counter-attacks when enemies slip up, it channels accumulated inner will into a single, devastating blow capable of shattering anything in its path.
A custom Where Winds Meet wireless Xbox controller was also revealed, slapping on that familiar image of uncle Jiang in the rain that greets us everytime we launch the game.

If you’re thinking of making the jump to Xbox and are a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, here’s exactly what you get from the first starter pack:
- 450 Echo Jade
- 90,000 Coins
And “essential progression items like Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies and Pillow Pills.” This first pack is available from June 7 to July 23, and is apparently only “Phase 1”, so it sounds like there’s another pack on the way sometime later.
