Persona 5 Royal x Heaven Burns Red collab announced, but not for Global

Goes live May 22 in Japan.

Heaven Burns Red is the latest gacha game to collaborate with Persona 5: Royal. The crossover goes live on May 22, but not for the Global version, as Japan is the only region confirmed to be getting the Persona collab so far.

Mona (Morgana), Queen (Makoto), and Violet (Kasumi/Sumire) join the roster of playable SS and SSR characters, with Mona a free SS reward for taking part in the collab event. Queen’s SSR Resonance runs first in Part 1 (May 22 – June 5), then Violet’s SSR Resonance runs in Part 2 (June 5 – June 19). Panther (Ann) technically makes an appearance too, as Tsukasa Tojo is wearing her red leather outfit in a new SSR Resonance also running in Part 1.

Then we have Joker, Persona 5’s protagonist. While he’s seen in the trailer, Joker is not playable, only appearing in the event’s fully-voiced story. Which makes sense, as he would have been a strange inclusion to Heaven Burns Red’s all-female cast.

As part of the event collaboration, you can also earn up to 10,000 Quartz by logging in and completing missions before the event ends on June 19.

So, will we ever see all these Persona 5 goodies in the Global version of Heaven Burns Red? Possibly, if the licensing all checks out, but (sorry, there’s always a but) Global could be waiting a long, long time, as it’s yet to even get the Angel Beats collab that went live in Japan during February 2023.

Sorry, Persona fans outside of Japan. Guess you’ll just have to take your time with this one. (Sorry. Again. You’re already going through enough.)
