Lizzo shares furry Honkai: Star Rail fan art as ‘variant’ album cover
These gacha collabs are getting out of hand, amirite?
Here’s a gacha collaboration nobody was expecting: American singer and rapper Lizzo has shared an edited furry fan art of Hoolay, and Himeko Nova, from Honkai: Star Rail on X and Instagram.
It’s unlikely that Lizzo (or the PR team who runs Lizzo’s social media accounts) knew the Hoolay image was of NSFW origins, as the cropped picture of Hoolay accompanied by Himeko Nova’s splash art was created by an X user as part of Lizzo’s following spree to promote her new album ‘BITCH’.
The ‘Juice’ singer is following any user who shares a screenshot of their pre-save of BITCH, and changes their profile picture to her infamous Juice single cover that became a meme itself back in 2019 when the image was repeatedly used on Lizzo’s YouTube channel. X user iloveovervape did just that, editing Lizzo’s face over Himeko Nova in their picture, keeping Hoolay in the background.
Lizzo then shared this Honkai: Star Rail edit—along with three other fan edited pictures with her face on them—jokingly calling them “album variants”.
You can always trust the internet to spot a picture that lands on the NSFW side, as it didn’t take long for users underneath the post to question why Lizzo was sharing risque fanart of Star Rail’s muscly anthropomorphic antagonist.
But there’s nothing weird about that Hoolay picture I hear you say. To which I respond: here’s the original uncropped Hoolay fan art, created by X user x_Kusunagi_x. Don’t worry, the picture isn’t NSFW enough to never be able to look at Hoolay in-game ever again, but the Borisin villain is sitting in a very suggestive pose with certain, uh, proportions not lore accurate.
The Honkai references didn’t stop at furry fan art, as the singer later said her favorite character from “Lizzo Impact 3rd” was Lizzo. This was in response to a fan edit of Honkai Impact 3rd with Lizzo’s face edited on to three characters.
