Genshin Impact ups recommended Mobile specs in preparation for “enhanced visual presentation” of new region Snezhnaya
“System specifications for the vast majority of devices will remain unchanged.”

Genshin Impact‘s big 7.0 update is just over a month away, and that’s also how long you have to get yourself a new Android phone to enjoy the “enhanced visual presentation” of the new slavic-inspired Snezhnaya region if you’re a Mobile player who doesn’t meet the game’s new supported specifications.
PC, iOS, PlayStation, and Xbox specs remain the same, whereas “a small number of Android devices” may experience stability issues thanks to the visual upgrades to new characters, environment textures and effects, and more. “If your device specifications are too low, the game may fail to install, fail to start, display black screens, experience freezing, or demonstrate other technical issues.”
The new fully supported specs for Android users after the version 7.0 update are:
- ARMv8-A 64-bit architecture
- SoC: Snapdragon 660 (Adreno 512) or Helio G88 (Mali-G52 MC2) or above (excluding certain architectures with compatibility risks; see details below)
- RAM: 4 GB or more
- Operating System: Android 10.0 and above
The recommended specs on Android are:
- SoC: Snapdragon 855 or Dimensity 1000 or Kirin 980 and above
- RAM: 6 GB or more
- Operating System: Android 12.0 and above
And Android devices with known compatibility risks are: Early PowerVR (GE/GM/Rogue) series architecture GPUs, such as MediaTek Helio P35, Helio G36, Helio G25 etc.
On the one hand, it’s great to hear that Genshin Impact is continuing to improve how it looks as we head into the gorgeous, fairytale terrain of Snezhnaya. But on the other, if you’re an Android player who can’t afford a new phone after just one months notice, I’m sure this comes as a major blow.

Dear Traveler,
Now entering its sixth year since launch, Genshin Impact continues to evolve with frequent content updates and enhanced graphical presentation. And above all else, the dev team remains committed to performance scaling and compatibility optimization.
As a result, Version 7.0 will deliver an enhanced visual presentation (including but not limited to visual upgrades for new characters, as well as new environment textures and effects, etc.), while system specification for the vast majority of devices will remain unchanged.
In version 7.0, the device requirements that remain unchanged from the current ones are:
- Recommended and Supported Specifications for PC, iOS, and Consoles;
- Recommended Specifications for Android devices; Minimum Requirements for Supported Specifications
[SoC (Snapdragon 660 / Helio G88), RAM (4GB), OS Version (Android 10.0)].
With every update and iteration, the dev team’s goal is to accommodate Travelers across all hardware configurations, ensuring the majority of our Travelers can comfortably enjoy the new content we offer.
That being said, starting with Version 7.0, a small number of Android devices may experience stability issues due to compatibility constraints inherent to their older GPU architectures (please see the detailed list below). We would like to inform Travelers of this situation in advance.
The full supported and recommended specifications for Version 7.0 are listed below for your reference. (for details regarding required storage space, please stay tuned for future announcements):
