Stellar Blade coming to Switch 2 in 2026

But no Switch 1 port, and no exact release date.

If you weren’t satisfied slashing Naytiba monstrosities on the big screen, you can soon take Eve and co. on the go when Stellar Blade releases for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The news came from Nintendo’s June 2026 Direct showcase. No exact release date yet, but perhaps Shift Up was just waiting to see how many slots were left in September and October, as every game tries to avoid the mighty shadow of Grand Theft Auto 6 in November this year.

Keep in mind that there’s no original Switch release for Stellar Blade—just Switch 2. Which is fair, I wouldn’t want to melt my Switch the second I boot up the game anyway. I’m actually pretty impressed by how good the Switch 2 port looks in the announcement trailer. Or perhaps the shiny visuals of the Stellar Blade: Blood Rain announcement trailer is just blurring together with what the original game looked like on PS5 and PC in my mind. Regardless, it looks like a great port. Visually, that is.

Stellar Blade debuted as a PS5 exclusive in April 2024, then had a very successful PC port a year later in June 2025. That PC money might be one of the reasons Shift-Up is publishing Stellar Blade: Blood Rain in-house, instead of teaming up with Sony again. The developer’s official line is that they’re self-publishing Blood Rain to “maximize sales and reach a broad global audience from day one”. Sure sounds like a simultaneous PC and console launch to me, but nothing’s been confirmed yet.

Also on the nothing front: Stellar Blade is yet to receive an Xbox Series X/S port. Very sorry, Xbox users, I hope you’ve also got a Switch 2.
